Bowling Masterclass: Building the Foundation of Elite Bowling
U9, U11 & U14 Panthers | 6th September | The British School
On 6th September, the U9, U11, and U14 Panthers cricket squads participated in a targeted Bowling Masterclass. The session focused on building a strong technical base in bowling—an essential skill in cricket that requires accuracy, rhythm, and control.
42 students took part in this structured programme that combined drills, correction cues, and video analysis to enhance performance across all key bowling phases.
Bowling is more than just delivering the ball. It’s about control, strategy, consistency, and execution. This masterclass helped students understand how a technically sound bowling action contributes to better game outcomes and injury prevention.
- Run-Up: Controlled approach and momentum management
- Pre-Delivery Stride: Efficient loading and balance
- High-Arm Action: Encouraging bounce, control, and injury prevention
- Non-Bowling Arm Use: Alignment, coordination and power transfer
- Follow-Through: Safe recovery and finishing action
- Video Analysis: Personal footage feedback and reflection
These students were acknowledged for their excellent application, technical growth, and focus:
This masterclass marked a key step in developing consistent bowlers with a clear understanding of technique. By focusing on each element of the bowling action and receiving real-time visual feedback, Panthers athletes are now better equipped to grow into match-winning bowlers.
The session concluded with a reminder: “Becoming a great bowler is not about pace or spin alone—it’s about mastering your action, being reliable under pressure, and delivering over and over again.”
