Celebrating Women in Sport: International Womenās Day at TBS
New Delhi, 8 March 2025 ā The British School came alive with passion and purpose as we celebrated International Womenās Day by hosting a spirited U-14 Girls Football Tournament. The event brought together young athletes from five schools, each competing with determination, respect, and a strong sense of community.
Our very own TBS-A and TBS-B teams embraced the occasion with energy and focus, supported by a warm turnout of parents and families who also joined in parallel activities. The day was more than a competition ā it was a celebration of opportunity, unity, and the growing strength of girls in sport.
A Tournament to Remember
The tournament featured a round-robin format, giving all five teams equal opportunity to play four matches each. With 60 participants taking part, the atmosphere was electric from the very first whistle. Spectators witnessed a morning filled with exciting football, impressive teamwork, and moments of individual brilliance.
Among the many highlights was the sheer enthusiasm with which the players approached every game. Their commitment, camaraderie, and confidence stood out as a powerful message about the future of girls’ sport at TBS and beyond.

To make the day even more special, TBS families joined in a variety of parallel events including cricket, basketball, and a joyful community dance session in the sports hall. These activities brought parents, students, and staff together in celebration of wellness, movement, and shared experiences.
As players gave their best on the field, their efforts were matched by the cheer and warmth of families on the sidelines ā a true reflection of the supportive environment that defines The British School.
