Rules and Regulations

The ISACI Cricket Tournament follows ICC guidelines with specific adaptations for competitive gameplay.

1. Number of Participants

Each team consists of 14 players, with 11 on the field at any given time.

A maximum of 2 coaches are allowed per team.

2. Rules of Play

  • Matches follow ICC rules with ISACI adaptations.
  • Round robin format with 12-over matches.
  • Bowling restrictions:
    • 2 bowlers can bowl a maximum of 3 overs.
    • Other bowlers can bowl a maximum of 2 overs.
    • A minimum of 5 bowlers must bowl.
  • Power Play:
    • First 4 overs: Only 2 fielders outside the 25-yard circle.
    • Overs 5-12: Minimum of 4 fielders inside the circle.
  • Front foot no-ball = 2 runs + free hit (ball counted).
  • One bouncer allowed, followed by a warning. Additional bouncers = wide + 2 runs.
  • Extra balls only added in the last 2 overs.
  • Mandatory water break after 6 overs.

3. Field Specifications

  • The wicket is 22 yards (20m) and made of astroturf.
  • The outfield extends 30-35m from the midpoint (square side of the wicket).
  • Matches will use the White Kimati ball.

4. Match Length & Warm-up

  • Each match consists of 12/15 overs per team.
  • Warm-up takes place 15/30 minutes before the scheduled match start.

5. Tournament Points & Tie-Breakers

  • Win = 2 points, Draw = 1 point, Loss = 0 points.
  • If standings are tied, the Net Run Rate (NRR) applies.
  • NRR Formula:
  • (Total Runs Scored ÷ Total Overs Faced) – (Total Runs Conceded ÷ Total Overs Bowled)

6. Championship Matches

  • If a final match is tied, a Super Over will decide the winner.
  • If still tied, a Super Bowling Over follows:
    • 6 bowlers bowl at unprotected wickets.
    • 1 point for each wicket taken.
    • If still tied, a sudden bowl-off is conducted.
  • No fielding restrictions in the Super Over.

NRR is calculated as:

(Total Runs Scored ÷ Total Overs Faced) – (Total Runs Conceded ÷ Total Overs Bowled)
