THE PANTHERS TOURNAMENT STORY

Small Steps.
Extraordinary
Ambition.

There is something special about competing on home ground. The familiar surroundings, the encouragement of teammates and the opportunity to represent your school all combine to make the experience memorable for young athletes.

On Friday, 16 October 2026, The British School hosted a badminton tournament featuring TBS Panthers and St Thomas School, bringing together young players ready to test their abilities and embrace the excitement of competitive sport.

For the Panthers, the day brought encouraging performances across the U11 Girls’ and Boys’ categories, with important knockout-stage achievements and a place in the boys’ championship final.

But beyond the results was something equally important: young players learning to compete, respond to challenges and believe in their growing potential.

CHAPTER 01 U11 GIRLS / BADMINTON
RISING THROUGH THE RANKS

Unbeaten in Groups.
Ready for the Knockouts.

U11 GIRLS

The Panthers girls delivered an impressive group-stage campaign, with Anaya and Nesara both finishing top of their respective groups without losing a match.

Anaya set the tone with two victories in Group B, finishing as group winner and earning a place in the semi-final stage.

Her progress was a significant achievement and an encouraging reflection of her composure, preparation and growing confidence on court.

Equally impressive was Nesara, who completed her Group C campaign with two wins from two matches. Topping her group, she advanced into the knockout round, where the bracket placed her against Ridaima of St Thomas School.

Their unbeaten group-stage performances were proud moments for the Panthers programme, demonstrating the progress being made by our developing young athletes.

Navya, Mahira and Ariana also represented TBS, gaining valuable experience against competitive opposition. Every rally, every decision and every challenge offered another opportunity to learn.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Reaching the knockout stages is an achievement worth celebrating. The confidence and experience gained along the way will be equally valuable in the tournaments still to come.

CHAPTER 02 U11 BOYS / BADMINTON
A CAMPAIGN TO REMEMBER

Three Advance.
One Reaches the Final.

U11 BOYS

The U11 boys delivered a series of determined performances, with three Panthers advancing from their groups and Sikender going on to reach the championship final.

Vidhuran, Vivaan and Sikender secured places in the knockout stages, showcasing the developing strength of our U11 badminton squad.

Vidhuran and Vivaan each secured a crucial group-stage victory after encountering challenging competition. Their ability to respond positively and continue competing earned them progression into the next stage.

Meanwhile, Sikender produced an outstanding campaign. Starting with two group-stage victories, he carried his momentum into the knockout rounds and progressed all the way to the championship final.

Although the title proved just out of reach, finishing as tournament runner-up was an excellent achievement and a proud moment for the TBS Panthers.

Ignacio and Siraj also represented the Panthers, contributing to the squad’s tournament experience and taking away important lessons from their matches.

THE PANTHERS SPIRIT
BEYOND THE RESULTS

Proud of the Progress.
Excited for What Comes Next.

Tournament results capture individual moments, but they never tell the complete story.

Behind every victory and every difficult match are hours of training, the encouragement of coaches, the support of teammates and the determination to keep improving.

The Panthers girls’ impressive group-stage performances and Anaya’s semi-final qualification, alongside the U11 boys’ achievements and Sikender’s runner-up finish, provide encouraging signs for the future of our badminton programme.

We extend our appreciation to St Thomas School for the competitive sporting experience, and to our coaches, staff and families for their continued encouragement and support.

TO EVERY YOUNG PANTHER KEEP TRAINING.
KEEP BELIEVING.
KEEP RISING.

The next opportunity is another chance to show how far you have come.
