I. General Rules

FIBA Official Basketball Rules apply except where ISACI modifications are listed below.

II. Teams & Equipment

Teams:

• Maximum 12 players may dress/play.
• One boys’ and one girls’ team per school.

Uniforms:

• Numbers 1–99 permitted.
• Sports glasses permitted at player’s own risk.

Balls:

• Host will announce ball type 3 weeks in advance.
• 3 match balls must be available.
• Boys: Size 7   Girls: Size 6.

III. Game Format

Game Duration:

• 4 × 8-minute quarters, stopped clock.
• Halftime: 5 minutes.
• 2 minutes between Q1–Q2 and Q3–Q4.

Warm-up:

• Minimum 5-minute warm-up required.

Overtime:

• 5-minute periods with 2-minute breaks between each.

IV. Game Rules

Start & Possession:

• Jump ball to start the game.
• Alternating possession arrow afterward.

Shot Clock Rules:

• Boys: 24-second shot clock.
• Reset to 14 sec (offensive rebound/frontcourt foul) or 24 sec (new possession).
• Girls: 30-second shot clock.
• Reset to 17 sec (offensive rebound) or 30 sec (new possession/foul).

Backcourt:

• 10-second backcourt violation applies.

Timeouts During Dead Ball Only:

Dead Ball includes:

• Referee whistle stopping play
• Ball out of bounds
• Foul or violation called
• Held ball
• Injury stoppage
• Official timeout

Timeout Procedure:

• Only the head coach may request.
• Coach must inform the scorer’s table first.

Timeout Allocation:

• 1 timeout each in Q1, Q2, Q3.
• 2 timeouts in Q4.
• 1 timeout per overtime.
• No carryover.

Defensive Restrictions – Girls Only:

• No full-court press Q1–Q3.
• Press allowed in Q4 and overtime.

25-Point Rule:

• Leading team must remove full-court pressure and rotate players.
• First = warning (no technical fouls issued).

V. Officials

• 2 referees required per match.
• Minimum 2 table officials (score + time/shot clock).

VI. Scoring

• Win = 1 point
• Loss = 0 points

VII. Classification & Standings

Round Robin:

• Teams play 3 matches (Fri AM, Fri PM, Sat AM).
• Ranking based on points.

Tiebreakers — Two Teams:

• Head-to-head result.

Tiebreakers — Three Teams:

• Highest point difference (among tied teams).
• Most points scored.
• Fewest points conceded.
• If still tied → 2-minute overtime playoff game(s).

IX. Ejections

• Ejection = suspension for remainder of match + next match.
• Appeals allowed before next game.
• Ejected individuals are ineligible for sportsmanship awards.
